The drag and drop email editor presents you a select box to choose an order.
Some of us get confused why we need to select an order.
This article explains why.

Why should I select an order?

It is just for loading sample data. Nothing else.

Our plugin is a drag and drop email customizer with a real time preview.
In order to show a real-time preview of an email design, we need some sample data. Instead of filling-in irrelevant dummy texts, we thought of using an existing order from your store to preview the email design.

This way you can have see your email design using one of your store's orders.

The plugin has short codes for all dynamic data like order number, totals, item summary, billing and shipping address, customer data.

So, when you save the email design/template, it saves with the short code.

When a customer makes an order, only the email design is used. The short codes will be replaced with the data from the respective order from that customer.

Do I need to design a template for each order?

NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT.

As I mentioned earlier, the order you select at the email editor is "just for sample data" to show a real-time preview of the design.

When a customer makes an order, only the email design is used. The short codes will be replaced with the data from the respective order from that customer.

The order select box is empty / I don't have any orders in my store

When you are just starting out with the site, you won't have any orders placed.
But don't worry.

Go to the storefront and place an order. Just use an offline payment methods like Cash on Delivery or Bank Transfer to complete the order.

Then go back to the Email Editor and start designing.
