Discover the process of creating a Next Order Coupon Campaign within your WooCommerce store using the Checkout Upsell for WooCommerce plugin

Introduction:

A "Next Order Coupon Upsell" is a strategy facilitated by Checkout Upsell for WooCommerce plugin that provides customers with a coupon discount for their next purchase immediately after they place an order.

For instance, when you place an order, you'll receive a 10% coupon code for your next purchase.

The purpose of a "Next Order Coupon Upsell" is to boost customer loyalty and increase sales by offering discounts on future purchases immediately after a customer buys a product.

Example scenarios:

  • Enjoy 10% off your next purchase!

  • Get $10 off coupon code, if your order total is more than $100

Note: To use some of the features shown in the examples, you must have the PRO version of the Checkout Upsell plugin installed and activated.

Now, let's take a closer look at the scenarios in detail.

Example 1 : Enjoy 10% off your next purchase!

In this scenario, when customers make a purchase, they'll receive a 10% coupon for their next order. They can use this discount on their future purchases. This kind of offer motivates customers to make more orders, which can boost overall revenue.

To create this campaign, follow these steps

Creating a Campaign:

  • Go to WordPress dashboard -> Checkout Upsell -> click on the button "Create new campaign"

  • Choose "Next Order Coupons"

Here is the screenshot of Campaign that follows,

Details of configurations are:

Step 1: Give a title for the campaign. For example: Get 10% coupon while placing an order

Step 2: Choose the “Discount Type” as Percentage discount and set the value as 10. You also have the option to choose other discount types as Fixed cart discount.

Step 3: You can optionally modify the coupon prefix if you prefer, and you also have the flexibility to adjust the length of automatically generated coupons. In this case, it's important to ensure that the minimum length of the coupons is set to at least 6 characters.

Step 4: Choose the specific order status for which you want coupons to be generated. This is done under the option "When to generate the coupon?" For instance, if you select both "Processing" and "Completed" as order statuses, then once an order reaches either of these statuses, the next order will automatically generate coupons for the customers.

Step 5: You can choose the display of “Next Order Coupon Upsell” in Emails, Thank you page, and in My account page -> Orders section.

Step 6: You can also add Additional Conditions for the Campaign (if required).

Step 7: Click on “SAVE” once we have successfully created the Campaign.

Upon placing an order, customers will receive a 10% discount coupon for their next upsell order, available for use in subsequent purchases.

Example 2: Get $10 off coupon code, if your order total is more than $100

In this case, customers whose order total is $100 or more on their order will receive a $10 discount code for their next purchase. The purpose of providing this example is to illustrate a specific incentive aimed at encouraging customers to spend a certain amount, ultimately driving higher sales for the business.

To create this campaign, follow these steps

  • Go to WordPress dashboard -> Checkout Upsell -> click on the button "Create new campaign"

  • Choose "Next Order Coupons"

Step 6: Scroll to the "Conditions" section, then click the "Add condition" button. Select the condition labeled "Order Total," and configure it by setting the parameter to be equal to or greater than $100.

Step 7: Click on “SAVE” once we have successfully created the Campaign.

When an order with a total of $100 or more is placed, customers will be provided with a $10 fixed discount coupon for their next upsell order. This coupon can be used in future purchases.

Looking to add “Additional Condition” for the coupons ? (optional)

  • Click the "Show advanced settings" option as shown in the below screenshot.

  • Next, you can set from options such as "Minimum Spending," "Exclude Products," or "Exclude Categories" to establish more conditions for the coupons as shown in below screenshot. These conditions will be checked when customers use the coupon in their shopping cart or during the checkout process for any order.

Note:

  • The extra conditions set in the "Conditions" section will be verified when customers make their orders.

  • The additional conditions set through "Show advanced settings" will be checked when customers apply the next order coupon during the cart/checkout process.

How to further customize the Next Order Coupon template:

  • Enable the checkbox "Custom Styling -> Enable" as shown in the below screenshot to further customise the next order coupon templates.

  • In the Title and Description section, there is an option to edit the coupon's title and description.

  • Additionally, the button text can be modified using the "CTA text" feature.

  • Following that, you can modify the color of the CTA button and text through the provided choices.

  • Additionally, you can decide to either "Reset" the design or "Select a different template" based on your needs.

Customers will see the next order coupon in various locations after placing their order which they can use it in their future orders:

  • On Thank you Page

  • On Emails and

  • On My account page
