This user guide explains how to create a Post-purchase Campaign using Checkout Upsell for WooCommerce
Example Scenarios:
Display related products upon clicking the “Add to Cart” button.
Show upsell products upon clicking the "Proceed to Checkout" button.
Please note that before proceeding, you must have installed and activated the Checkout Upsell. It is important to note that this feature requires the PRO version.
Let’s get started,
Example 1: Display related products upon clicking the “Add to Cart” button.
In this scenario, when a customer adds products to their cart, the system will instantly show related products on a popup once the "add to cart" button is clicked. This could motivate customers to buy additional items, potentially boosting sales.
To create a campaign, follow the below steps
Creating a Campaign
Go to the WordPress dashboard -> Checkout Upsell -> click on the “Create new Campaign” button.
Choose “Upsell popups”

Details of the configuration,
Step 1: Give a title for the campaign, for example, Upsell popups
Step 2: Choose the triggers as “After products added to cart” as we are showing the popup once the Add to Cart button is clicked.
You can also choose the option “Proceed to checkout” as that might show the popup once the Proceed to Checkout button is clicked.
Step 3: Choose the product suggestion method as “Use related products” since we are displaying the related products based on the products that have been added to the cart.
Options available in the product suggestion methods are:
Use Related Products - With this option, we use a special feature from WooCommerce called Related Products. This feature helps find products that are similar to the one you just bought by looking at similar tags or categories. For example: If you buy a Mobile phone, you’ll get a popup with mobile-related products.
Use Cross-Sell products - When you select this option, we will display products that are marked as "Cross-Sell" under the "Linked Products" section on the product creation page.
Use Upsell products - When you select this option, we will display products that are marked as "Upsell" under the "Linked Products" section on the product creation page.
Step 4: You can also include Additional Conditions for the campaign if needed.
Step 5: Click on “SAVE” once we have successfully created the campaign.
Now, as soon as the customer clicks on the “Add to Cart” button, they’ll see the related products displayed in the popup screen.
