Why opt for the Omnibus Directive addon?

Utilizing this addon allows you to ensure your website's compliance with the European Parliament and Council Directive (EU) 2019/2161 dated November 27, 2019, commonly referred to as the "Omnibus Directive." This ensures the display of previewed lowest prices for products.

For instance, consider a product priced at $30; with this addon, you can show that the lowest price within the past 30 days was $10.

Please note that this addon will work with our free pack Discount Rules for WooCommerce plugin. We are happy to let you know that Free Pack is sufficient to display preview lowest price for products with the help of this addon, but the PRO pack offers more advanced features.

Steps to activate/ deactivate the addon:

To install and activate the addon:

  • Go to WordPress dashboard -> WooCommerce -> Discount Rules -> Addons tab

  • Look for the addon “Omnibus Directive” and click on the “Download” button to download the addon.

  • Once we have successfully downloaded the addon, you can find the downloaded pack in your downloads section and let's install it

  • To install the addon, go to Wordpress -> Plugins -> Add new -> click on "Upload Plugin"

  • Click on the "Browse" -> choose the downloaded "Addon" pack -> click on "Install Now" and Activate it.

  • Then from the “Add-Ons” tab, you can either click on the “Open” or “Settings” option to access the “Omnibus Directive” addon’s dashboard.

To deactivate the addon:

  • Go to WordPress dashboard -> WooCommerce -> Discount Rules -> Addons tab

  • Look for the addon "Omnibus Directive" and click on "Deactivate" button

Now, let’s discuss how this addon works:

Imagine you have a product called "Bag" priced at $100 (the regular price in WooCommerce).

Step 1 : For this product, you apply a 10% discount using the Discount Rules for WooCommerce plugin through the Product Adjustment rule.

Screenshot showing 10% discount applied to the product page of "Bag" :

As observed, the preview of the lowest price for this product is displayed as $90, which corresponds to the lowest price set for this product so far.

Step 2 : Now, if you decide to change the discount value to 20% for this product via the Product Adjustment rule, the "Previous lowest price from omnibus" will still appear as $90 (representing the 10% discount). This is because this addon exclusively considers the "preview" lowest price, which remains at $90.

Step 3 : Similarly, if you decide to change the discount value to 30%, the "Previous lowest price from omnibus" will continue to display as $80 (reflecting the 20% discount). The addon will consistently reference the "preview" lowest price, which stands at $80.

Step 4: Even if you reduce the discount to 5% for the "Bag" product, the "Previous lowest price from omnibus" will persist at $70 (representing the 30% discount), as $70 remains the preview lowest price when compared to the 10%, 20%, 30%, and 5% discount values.

In summary, regardless of the discount set via the Discount Rules for WooCommerce plugin, our addon always considers the "Preview" lowest discounted price and displays it.

Options available in addon dashboard are:

  • Go to WordPress dashboard -> WooCommerce -> Discount Rules -> Addons tab

  • Click on either click on the “Open” or “Settings” option to access the “Omnibus Directive” addon’s dashboard to access this page.

Number of days - This setting records the discount amount after the sale was started. For example: "Previous lowest price: $70.00 in 30 days."

Show Omnibus message on product page - This setting allows you to enable or disable the message displayed on single product pages. It's important to note that even if this message is set to "No" (disabled), data regarding the discount value will still be recorded as long as this addon is active.

Omnibus Message - The default message is: "Previous lowest price: {{price}}." You have the flexibility to customize this message according to your specific requirements. Additionally, you can use the following supported shortcodes within this message:

  • {{price}} -> Replace the lowest price

  • {{date}} -> Display the day when was lowest price

Position to show message - You have the option to choose from different positions to display the message on your product pages. Select the position that best suits your needs.

Integration with additional addon plugin:

The Discount Rules for WooCommerce plugin and the Omnibus Directive addon have integration with an additional plugin called "Omnibus show the lowest price By Marcin Pietrzak."

You can find this plugin at the following URL: https://wordpress.org/plugins/omnibus/

When you have the "Omnibus show the lowest price By Marcin Pietrzak" plugin installed and activated on your website, a new checkbox called "Override the message displayed by Omnibus plugin" becomes available in the dashboard of the "Omnibus Directive" addon.

Once you enable this checkbox and click "Submit" to save the changes, the message displayed by the "Omnibus show the lowest price By Marcin Pietrzak" plugin will be replaced/ overridden by the Discount Rules Omnibus Directive addon, taking into consideration the discount prices set through our plugin.

It's important to note that this checkbox only allows you to override the "Omnibus show the lowest price By Marcin Pietrzak" plugin by considering our discount price.
